Plantar Fasciitis
The plantar fascia is a thick connective tissue that provides arch support for the foot. It connects the ball of the foot to the heel. Plantar fasciitis can occur when this band becomes overloaded and can result in inflammation, tears, and pain. Statistics have found that his condition affects over two million Americans per year and 10% of the population will experience it over their lifetime.
Signs & Symptoms
People with plantar fasciitis commonly experience pain in the heel or arch of the foot, especially after long periods of immobility. Patients may also have heel foot or arch pain during long periods of standing or walking.
